David Di Pietro was appointed

Co-Chair of the Jeb Bush Presidential Campaign

Leaders of the Broward County Republican establishment have jumped on board the Jeb Bush for president bandwagon.

The Bush campaign announced an array of endorsements this week from prominent Broward Republicans who will form his campaign team in the county.

The endorsements give Bush, the former frontrunner in the crowded Republican field, a boost in his home state just when his poll numbers are sagging and rivals Donald Trump,Ben Carson and others are drawing widespread attention with an anti-establishment pitch.

Former U.S. Sen. George LeMieux of Fort Lauderdale was named Bush’s honorary campaign chairman in the county. Co-chairs are State Rep. George Moraitis and County Commissioner Chip LaMarca.

LeMieux said Bush “has the passion, intellect and vision to usher in an American renewal to allow us to dream big dreams again.”

LaMarca called Bush a true reformer and “a disruptor of the status quo.”
