ABOUT RUDY
Rodolfo ‘Rudy’ Mayor is a Partner at Di Pietro Partners where he manages a State and Federal Court caseload in a wide range of complex commercial and business disputes. Rudy also represents family members and beneficiaries in complex probate and trust litigation matters involving will contests in cases of undue influence or lack of capacity. Rudy has assisted health care providers recover against some of the largest health insurance companies for underpayment and nonpayment of medical claims. Some of Rudy’s notable cases include representing a former shareholder of the one the largest marinas in the Caribbean in a fraud and breach of contract dispute. Rudy also provides legal counsel to businesses ranging from small tech start-ups to health care industry leaders.
During law school, Rudy worked in the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. where he assisted in the defense of U.S. Government agencies in complex civil litigation throughout the United States. Rudy worked on the defense of the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers in litigation related to Hurricane Katrina levee failures. Rudy also worked for McCarthy Wilson, LLP, a reputable Washington Area trial firm, on personal injury defense, wrongful death and commercial litigation matters on behalf of several Fortune 500 insurance companies.
Rudy served as Senior Editor of the International Law in Domestic Courts Journal where he published several case notes in Oxford University Press’ Reports on International Law. He also founded the Cuban American Bar Association DC Student Chapter that helped create mentorship and networking opportunities for law students of Cuban origin. Rudy also served as a Congressional Intern in the U.S. House of Representatives and worked at several policy think-tanks in Washington, D.C. Given his interest in government and politics Rudy has also represented businesses in local government contract and bidding disputes.
