The case of Karen Reed’s accused murder of Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe has been met with substantial controversy, especially with the first trial ending in a hung jury. The prosecution argues that Reed had intentionally ran over O’Keefe with her SUV over their crumbling relationship, resulting in his death. The defense has proposed numerous counterarguments to this, bringing into question whether his cause of death was from being struck by a motor vehicle or a dog bite attack. The case is now being brought forth as a retrial, with both the defense and the prosecution recircling back with sharpened arguments.

Attorney David Di Pietro was brought on Fox News to discuss this case, as well as what to expect going forward. He explained that the defense made mistakes by creating what he views as the dog bite conspiracy, as well as not calling up witnesses to support it. He also stated that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts strengthened their case by eliminating the possibility of a dog bite through lack of DNA evidence, as well as providing evidence of taillight fragments in O’Keefe’s sweater.

David was requested to appear on Fox News due to his qualifications and experience as a former prosecutor and as a highly regarded attorney practicing out of south Florida.
