Attorney and former prosecutor David Di Pietro appeared on CourtTV to discuss the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the United States Supreme Court. Specifically, they discuss the controversy over whether a judge should legislate from the bench or should interpret the law strictly as written. This has been an issue of controversy due to the fact that Amy Coney Barrett holds significantly different political leanings than the just–ice she is replacing, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Barrett is described as an originalist, and is viewed by most Democrats as a threat to the Affordable Care Act should it come before the USSC.
David was asked to appear on CourtTV to provide his legal analysis and insight into Barrett’s nomination and her qualifications as a potential USSC justice.
